On July 17th the Austin American Statesman published an op-ed by Governor Perry, discussing the success of tort reforms that were enacted in Texas in 2003.  Today, the paper followed up by publishing a letter to the editor by CALACTX Chairman, Andy Tewell, in support of the Governor’s position. Tewell’s letter reminds readers that, “by bringing a level of fairness and predictability into health-related lawsuits, voter-approved reforms have brought more doctors to Texas and have increased accessibility to health care for those with complicated illnesses and all Texas, especially those residing in rural areas.” To read the full letter, click here.
